As part of our topic 'Celebrations and Festivals' we learnt about Diwali, the 'Festival of Light.' We looked at how the Hindu religion celebrate Diwali, including decorating their houses with rangoli patterns and using ink on their hands to create mendhi patterns. We had a go at creating our own ones of these.  We listened to a little girl called Jessica who showed us how her family celebrate Diwali including visiting the temple to worship, cooking some tasty food and having their family together to enjoy the celebrations. We also listened to the story of Rama and Sita, created our own puppets and re-told the story. We also enjoyed taking part in some Diwali dances.
